ABOUT DANIELLE SMITH

Canadian journalist and local politician known for leading the conservative Wildrose Party. She also served her native Alberta as the Canadian Federation of Independent Business' Director of Provincial Affairs.

She studied English and Economics at the University of Calgary.

She once worked as a columnist for the Calgary Herald.

She grew up with four siblings. After divorcing Sean McKinsley, she married David Moretta.

She and fellow Canadian politician Brian Mason both served as provincial leaders of political parties (Mason led the Alberta New Democrats).
