ABOUT DANNY FERRY

Longtime Cleveland Cavalier in the NBA; became general manager of the Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks after retirement.

He had an outstanding basketball career at Duke University, leading the team to the Final Four in three of his four years there, and twice winning the East Regional MVP award.

He won an NBA Championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003.

He was born in Hyattsville, Maryland, his father Bob Ferry a former NBA center.

One of his first big acquisitions for the Cavaliers was the veteran center Shaquille O'Neal - past his prime, but still a physical post presence.
