Darrell Dexter

ABOUT DARRELL DEXTER

Canadian politician, lawyer, and journalist who served as the 27th Premier of Nova Scotia from 2009 to 2013. He served as the opposition party leader in Nova Scotia from 2001 to 2009.

He studied education and law at Dalhousie University and obtained his journalism degree from the University of King's College.

He was a member of the Legislative Assembly for
Dartmouth-Cole Harbour from 1998 to 2003 when the constituency became solely Cole Harbour. He served in the Legislative Assembly for Cole Harbour for another ten years.

He married Kelly Wilson and they had one son together, Harris.

He was elected Premier during the tenure of Stephen Harper as Prime Minister of Canada.
