ABOUT DAVID BERKMAN
Acclaimed jazz artist who became known for his inventiveness and subtlety. He was a favored collaborator within the jazz community.
He became heavily involved in the New York City jazz scene when he relocated to the Big Apple in 1985.
He was honored with the 2000 Doris Duke/Chamber Music America New Works Creation and Presentation Grant.
His father's interest in piano helped light the spark that prompted him to give up bass and switch instruments.
He collaborated with the jazz greats of his day, including drummer Bill Stewart .
