ABOUT DAVID KELLY
Late Irish actor best remembered as Grandpa Joe in Tim Burton 's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . He was also known for his roles in Stardust , Into the West, and The Jigsaw Man.
He studied watercolor art after graduating from The Abbey School of Acting.
He won a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish Film and Television Awards in 2005.
He married Laurie Morton in 1961. The couple had two children named David Jr. and Miriam.
He co-starred in the 2001 comedy Mean Machine with Vinnie Jones .
