He earned a Ph.D from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and latter served as Dean of Chapel.

He serve as the pastor for The Church at Brook Hills in Alabama.

Has three children, Caleb, Joshua and adopted daughter Mara, with wife Heather Platt.

He followed in the steps of Rick Warren to become a best-selling author and religious leader.
