David Unger

ABOUT DAVID UNGER

Guatemalan author and translator known for his books The Price of Escape and Life in the Damn Tropics.

He attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and later got his Master's degree from Columbia University.

Among his translations are work for the Guatemalan author Rigoberta Menchu and the poems of Nicanor Parra .

He married noted artist Anne Gilman.

He and Miguel Angel Asturias are both successful Guatemalan authors.
