Known as the mother of rap legend Marshall Mathers, or, as he is better known publicly, Eminem . She was accused of neglecting and abusing her son while he was a boy only to reenter his life when he became famous.

She was only seventeen when she gave birth to her son.

Many of Eminem's early songs criticized his mother, however, the 2014 single "Headlights" served as an apology for years of scorn.

She began dating Marshall Bruce Mathers II at fifteen. Three years later, they had Eminem, and not long after Mathers II left her and their eighteen-month-old son. She remarried three times.

Her granddaughter is Hailie Scott .
