ABOUT DEREK HARTLEY
This Sirius XM Satellite Radio host became famous for his LGBT-themed program, the Derek and Romaine Show. The talk program, broadcast by the OutQ channel, sought to reach millions of listeners both in the United States and abroad.
He began his career by working for PlanetOut.com, for which he created a same-sex dating forum and authored a love-themed advice column.
For a time, he worked for Frederator Studios, heading marketing efforts for Spike TV, Viacom, and Seventeen magazine.
He and his four younger siblings -- Tiffany, Adam, Alyssa, and Zach -- grew up in Virginia, Utah, and California.
Singer K.D. Lang was a guest on the Derek and Romaine Show.
