ABOUT DERRICK BARNES

Professional inside linebacker that was taken by the Detroit Lions as a fourth round pick in the 2021 Draft. Prior to being drafted, he played college football at Purdue University . As a senior, he was named to the second team All-Big Ten.

He was a three sport athlete while at Holy Cross High School. In addition to football, he also played basketball and ran track.

He made his NFL debut while playing against the San Francisco 49ers during week one of the 2021 regular season. He recorded 42 tackles in 17 games played as a rookie that season.

He was born and raised in the Covington, Kentucky area.

He played alongside Jared Goff as a member of the Lions during the 2022 NFL season.
