ABOUT DILRUBA Z ARA
Swedish and Bangladeshi novelist, writer, artist, and translator who is known for her books A List of Offences (2006), Blame (2015), and Detached Belonging (2016), as well as for her translation work of Selected Short Stories by Shahed Ali (2006) and En Flod till hjärta (2021).
She moved from Bangladesh to Sweden in the year 1978. She attended and graduated from Gothenburg University prior to beginning her career as a professional novelist and writer. She later published her first novel in the year 2006.
She translated some Pippi Longstocking stories from Swedish into Bengali. She has degrees in English, Swedish, Classical Arabic, and Linguistics from Gothenburg University, as well as a teaching degree from Lund University.
She was born and raised in Bangladesh. Several of her family members were published authors. She has three brothers and two sisters. She has two children named Navid and Tania.
She is a female Bangladeshi novelist living abroad in Europe just like Monica Ali .
