Former forward who spent his club career with a number of teams, most notably Cambridge United, Coventry City and Aston Villa; scored 183 goals in his 613-game club career.

He debuted professionally with Norwich City in 1988 after spending three seasons with the club's youth squad.

He became a commentator for Sky Sports after retiring.

He attended school in his hometown of Leicestershire.

He played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup alongside Michael Owen .
