ABOUT DJ CASPER
DJ named Willie Perry Jr., but better known by his stage name DJ Casper. He was signed with DarkChild and he is perhaps best known as the creator of "Casper Slide Pt. 1," also known as the infamous dance hit "Cha Cha Slide."
He created the Cha Cha Slide for his nephew who was working as a personal trainer in 1998. It was from there that the song gained popularity in fitness clubs as aerobic exercise.
He earned the stage name Casper for his tendency to wear primarily white while performing on stage. His song "Cha Cha Slide - Hardino Mix" has garnered over 60 million streams on Spotify.
He was raised in Englewood, Chicago. He was married to Joyce Perry. In 2016, he was diagnosed with both kidney and neuroendocrine cancer.
