ABOUT DUMISO DABENGWA

Zimbabwean politician known for serving at the head of ZIPRA intelligence during the Rhodesian Bush War, which took place between 1964 and 1979 and led to universal suffrage and an end to white minority rule in Rhodesia.

He served in the government as Minister of Home Affairs early in his political career.

He was nicknamed the "Black Russian during the Rhodesian War, due to his training in Russia.

He and his wife had two children together.

He was charged with treason by Robert Mugabe and served four years in prison.
