ABOUT EAGLE PENNELL
American filmmaker best known for "The Whole Shootin' Match" from 1978 and "Last Night at the Alamo" from 1984.
He spent his teenage years shooting films on his father's Super 8 camera. Later, he briefly studied film at the University of Texas-Austin.
He suffered from drug addiction and alcoholism and spent periods of his adult life living on the streets.
He grew up in Texas with several siblings.
His famous film "The Whole Shootin' Match" inspired Robert Redford to start the Sundance Film Institute.
