ABOUT EDUARDS BERKLAVS

Latvian politician known for being the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Latvian SSR.

He was arrested and had to serve a prison sentence for his communist activities during the 1930's.

He is one of founders of the Latvian National Independence Movement.

His parents raised him in the Kuldiga District of Latvia.

He and Angela Davis both supported the Communist party.
