Internationally known jazz musician whose recordings were highly acclaimed. He taught at the top music schools in the U.S.
He moved to the United States to study classical piano at the Philadelphia Performing Arts School, which he finished at age 15.
He tried to blend the structure of classical musical with the spontaneity of jazz, usually with a dose of Latin music mixed in.
His two brothers, Marlon and Michael, were both noted musicians.
He worked with the jazz musician and bandleader Kevin Eubanks on several projects.
