ABOUT ELLEN BUCKLEY

Former US Military nurse turned Lieutenant Commander. She was known as an advocate of veterans' rights and was active in the Roman Catholic Church.

She earned two degrees in Nursing from Saint Louis University.

At the Four Freedoms Awards in 2001, she was recognized as a exemplary military nurse at the presentation of the Freedom Medal.

She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She and soccer pro, Jack Jewsbury , both studied at Saint Louis University.
