ABOUT ERIC YUAN

Business executive famous for his work as the founder of Zoom. He developed video communication software in 1987 to talk to his girlfriend while they were away from each other. He founded Zoom in 2007.

Zoom gained mainstream popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 and 2021.

He holds degrees from the University of Science and Technology, Stanford University, and the China University of Mining and Technology. He became a US citizen in 2007. He formed his first business in the 4th grade by collecting items from construction sites to recycle for their copper.

His parents were geological engineers. He and his wife have three children.

He was inspired to move to California by Bill Gates .
