Producer, writer and actor. He is known for co-executive producing the TV shows Man with a Plan and New Girl . He also produced the TV series My Boys and Whitney.

His first acting credit was in the 1988 film The Chocolate War.

He had a small acting role in the 2004 film The Bourne Supremacy . He also appeared in the TV shows Sex and the City and Will & Grace .

He married actress Kathryn Hahn in 2002. They have two children named Leonard and Mae .

He worked with Matt LeBlanc on the series Man with a Plan.
