She studied hospitality and tourism, and graduated with a degree in social communication with a major in public relations.

She previously worked in air traffic, but quit because she was afraid of flying.

She married Jorge Cruz on the 8th of September, 2017. They had a son, Renzo, on April 6, 2017, and in August 2018 she announced that she was pregnant with a baby girl. Her sister, Fabiana Veliz Piedrahita, was named the Queen of the Rivers in 2018.

She is friends with Mariela Viteri .
