Pakistani politician who became the first female Speaker of the National Assembly, a lower house of Parliament of State of Pakistan, in 2008.

She was trained as a doctor at Liaquat Medical College, Jamshoro, Sindh, and before entering politics, she ran an advertising agency

She worked in gynaecology and pediatrics before joining the Peoples Party in 1997.

She is the aunt of Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, a three time Provincial Sindh Minister and current member and leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

She is a prominent Pakistani politician like Imran Khan .
