ABOUT FRANK KIMBROUGH

Post-bop jazz artist who was known for his individualism and originality.

He worked as a pianist in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, before relocating to Washington, D.C., in 1980.

He joined the Herbie Nichols Project in the nineties, eventually becoming co-leader.

His family was musical, and as a result, he was exposed to many different types of jazz growing up.

His many influences included Bill Evans, Vince Guaraldi, and Thelonious Monk .
