ABOUT GüNEş TANER

Politician best known for being one of the founders of the political group the Motherland Party. He was elected to parliament four times between 1987 and 1999.

He received his master's degree in Industrial Administration from the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute. Early in his career, he held an executive position at Citibank.

He was involved in a scandal revolving around the first-ever private Turkish bank. He was found guilty of bid-rigging.

He has two children.
