Professional center-back that was signed by the Voluntari Football Club in 2021. He has also made appearances as a member of the Romanian national team. Earlier in his career, he played in the English Premier league for teams such as Watford F.C. and the West Bromwich Albion Football Club.

He began his youth soccer career playing for the Brașov Football Club.

As a member of the Romanian national team, he earned over 67 international caps caps for the nation and he played for Romania at the UEFA Euro 2008.

He grew up living with his family in Brașov, Romania.

He played against Christian Panucci and the Italian national team at the UEFA Euro 2008.
