George Simion

ABOUT GEORGE SIMION

Romanian politician and civic activist who was a candidate in the 2025 Romanian presidential election. He is known for being the founder and chairman of the second largest party in either house of parliament since 2024, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians.

He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Bucharest's Faculty of Business and Administration in 2008. He then went on to obtain his master's degree in history from the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University.

After graduating from university, he became involved in the compilation of several hip-hop music albums, including "United Under the Tricolor" and "Eternia." He has also authored the books Blocati în labirint ("Stuck in the Maze") and Cum i-am cunoscut ("How I met them.")

He and his older sister, Elena, were born to parents Constantin and Vrancea Simion, both of whom were economists. He married Ilinca Munteanu on August 27, 2022. They welcomed their first child together, a boy named Radu, on April 24, 2024.

He attended the second inauguration of President Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
