New York-born woman known as the wife of comedian and actor Bob Newhart . They were married on January 12, 1963.
She met her husband on a blind date set up by comedian Buddy Hackett . She was a babysitter for Hackett's children.
She was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2008. She underwent a successful liver transplant.
Her father was actor Bill Quinn, who appeared in the sitcom All in the Family . She had four children named Robert, Timothy, Jennifer and Courtney.
Her husband played Professor Proton on The Big Bang Theory , sharing many scenes with Jim Parsons .
