ABOUT GIORGIO KOUKL
Italian musician known for his mastery of Bohuslav Martinů's repertoire.
He was a student at the State Music School and Conservatory and later the Zurich and Milan Conservatories.
He recorded all of Martinů's solo piano works on a seven-CD set that was released between 2006 and 2009.
His mother was from Russia, which motivated him to study Russian music especially the works of Russian composer Alexander Tcherepnin.
He and legendary Italian film composer Ennio Morricone were contemporaries.
