ABOUT GIUSEPPE ZANGARA

Italian criminal who assassinated Chicago mayor Anton Cermak in February 1933. He was executed in Florida State Prison after serving just ten days on Death Row.

He served in the Italian Army during World War I.

Though he killed Mayor Anton Cermak, it is widely believed that his intended target was U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

He emigrated with his uncle to the U.S. in 1923.

He was portrayed by actor Joe Mantell on the 60's TV series The Untouchables.
