ABOUT GLADYS ZENDER

Peruvian model who was the first Latin American woman to win the Miss Universe pageant in 1957.

She was only 17 years old when she won the title of Miss Universe in 1957 which was under the age requirement but it was decided she could keep the title.

Peruvian composer Alicia Maguina released a song dedicated to her called Polka a Gladys Zender.

She married Antonio Meier in 1965 and they have four children.

Her son is actor Christian Meier .
