ABOUT GRACE TAME

Activist who has gained fame as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault. In January 2021, she was named the Australian of the Year by the Australia National Day Council in recognition of her work.

She first spoke out about her experience with sexual assault in August 2019, becoming the first Tasmanian to win a court order to speak on her experience. She graduated with associates degrees in theatre arts and liberal arts from Santa Barbara City College.

She has worked with the Los Angeles Human Trafficking Squad to help prevent sexual assault and grooming. She is the first Tasmanian to be named Australian of the Year.

Her romantic partner's name is Max Heerey.
