ABOUT GRACE WILLIAMS
Welsh composer best remembered for the works Penillion, Sea Sketches, and Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes.
She sang in her father's choir and earned the Morfydd Owen scholarship to Cardiff University in 1923.
She became the first British woman ever to score a film with the 1949 drama Blue Scar.
Both of her parents were schoolteachers.
She studied music under Ralph Vaughan Williams at the Royal College of Music in London.
