Former surfer and board-shaper widely considered a pioneer in the sport. He is famous for producing the influential "Search for Surf" series of surf movies.
He started surfing at age eleven and rode waves at locations like Palos Verdes.
He was the co-author of the 2007 book "Greg Noll: The Art of the Surfboard."
His family moved from San Diego to Manhattan Beach, California when he was three years old.
He and surfing legend Laird Hamilton were featured in the 2004 documentary "Riding Giants."
