Alternative rock bassist known for being one of the original members of the band Coldplay . He's also played with Apparatjik and Magne Furuholmen .
He dropped out of architecture school at University College London to pursue a full-time music career.
As a member of Coldplay, he earned twenty-five Grammy Award nominations between 2002 and 2012.
He was married to Joanna Briston from 2004 to 2007 and had a daughter with her. He grew up with an older brother named Mark.
He and vocalist Chris Martin have performed together as members of Coldplay.
