Nicknamed "Hoopi," became a sportscaster for just about every sport there is, including World Cup soccer and summer and winter Olympics.
He studied telecommunications in college.
His first shot at broadcasting the Olympics came in 1984 in Los Angeles.
He grew up in Helsinki, Finland.
He and Bob Costas broadcasted the same Olympics on multiple occasions, just on different networks.
