ABOUT HARRIS B. MCDOWELL JR.

Member of the Democratic Party who served five terms as a U.S. Representative from Delaware from 1959 to 1967.

He graduated from Beacom Business College and was involved in farming and the real estate business before serving in office.

He was a member of the State Board of Agriculture from 1937-1940.

He has a son, Harris B. McDowell III, who became a member of the Delaware State Senate.

He supported President Lyndon B. Johnson 's war policies.
