
Helen Farr Sloan
ABOUT HELEN FARR SLOAN
Artist, philanthropist, and patron of the arts. She was the subject of "Helen at the Easel" from 1947.
She studied everything from metalworking to weaving at the Craft Students League at Cornell.
She managed her artist husband's estate and donated large sums of money to universities and art institutions. She supported the Delaware Art Museum, in particular, providing the institution with significant funding, as well as with a collection of her husband's paintings.
She met her second husband, John Sloan , at the Art Students League of New York.
She and her husband were a well-known artistic pair similar to Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
