ABOUT HENRY JOLLES
German musician who mastered both contemporary and classical music. He was forced to flee to Brazil during World War II because of the Nazi threat.
His musicality was impacted by virtuoso Eugen d’Albert who saw potential in the boy after hearing him play when Henry was six.
He was a prolific composer whose pre-1933 work was largely destroyed during the reign of the Nazis.
His mother and his sister died in 1943 while imprisoned at the Auschwitz concentration camp.
He was trained early on by many influential musicians, including Artur Schnabel .
