ABOUT HESTON BLUMENTHAL
English celebrity chef well known for his innovative spins on classic British foods. His restaurant, The Fat Duck, received a rating of three Michelin stars and was voted the #1 restaurant in the world in 2005.
He received no formal culinary training. He has been inspired by cuisine from the late 1800's, as well as the dishes from Alice in Wonderland .
He invented bacon and egg ice cream, which became a favorite dish of patrons at The Fat Duck. He went on to open up a restaurant in London called Dinner By Heston, which plays on recipes and concepts from as far back as the 1400's. The restaurant has gone on to win numerous awards, and receive recognition for its superior wine list.
He and his wife, Zanna Blumenthal, have three children together.
He has worked with restaurateur Jamie Oliver .
