Japanese-born American filmmaker known for his music videos for artists including Donald Glover , Earl Sweatshirt , The Fray and Chet Faker . In 2016, he directed several episodes of the comedy-drama series Atlanta .
In 2013, he directed the short film "Clapping for the Wrong Reasons." It was a companion piece for Donald Glover 's second studio album, "Because the Internet."
For his work on Atlanta, he received three nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.
His father is Japanese composer Kunihiko Murai.
He directed a Nike campaign starring Chance The Rapper .
