ABOUT HIROMU ARAKAWA
Famous for her internationally popular Fullmetal Alchemist manga series, this Japanese artist is also known for her work on Hero Tales, Silver Spoon, and The Heroic Legend of Arslan.
After working for a time as an assistant to the established manga artist Hiroyuki Eto, she launched her own career by publishing an award-winning manga titled Stray Dog.
Fullmetal Alchemist won a Shogakukan Manga Award in 2003 and a Seiun Award in 2011.
She and her four siblings grew up on a farm in Hokkaido, Japan. She later settled in Tokyo and welcomed three children between 2007 and 2014.
She was influenced and inspired by the work of fellow manga artist Rumiko Takahashi .
