Classically trained musician who was a proponent of British contemporary music, especially the works of Arnold Bax and Gordon Jacob .
She was a student at the Royal College and the Royal Academy of Music.
She performed the U.K. premiere of William Schuman's Piano Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Basil Cameron .
She chose to continue performing under her maiden name after marrying Henry Morriss in 1966.
She and Myra Hess were contemporaries.
