Prior to Jackson's birth, his parents shared with their YouTube viewers their struggles to overcome infertility and their joy after finally conceiving a child. Jackson's sonogram image was shown and his name revealed in a September 26, 2013 YouTube video.

He is featured in such popular videos as "Our Baby is Here" and "Baby's First Christmas." He has loved riding his bike, playing basketball and eating pizza.

He was born in Utah to web stars Ellie and Jared Mecham . He has younger brothers named Calvin and Tommy . He also has a sister named Jennifer June.

He and Oliver Lanning both became famous on YouTube as the children of "mommy vloggers."
