He matriculated from the Catholic University of Leuven where he received his Doctorate in Philosophy.
He was fluent in at least six languages and often translated many of his own works into various languages.
He was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
He and former mob wife Victoria Gotti both received their undergraduate educations at Saint John's University.
