ABOUT JAMES GENUS
Jazz bassist known for his work with the Saturday Night Live Band. He performed with such renowned musicians and bands as Benny Golson , Chick Corea , and Daft Punk.
Before moving to New York City to further his music career, he studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and played bass at the Busch Gardens theme park in Williamsburg, Virginia.
He played with the band Out of the Blue in the late 1980s.
He grew up in Hampton, Virginia and spent his childhood playing the guitar and bass.
He performed with jazz guitarist Pat Martino on a 1998 album entitled Stone Blue.
