ABOUT JANE JARVIS
Jazz artist, New York Mets organist, Muzak Corporation composer, and recording industry executive.
She was a child prodigy, studying under professors from several universities. She was hired by radio station WJKS in Gary, Indiana, as their pianist in 1927 not long after her family moved to Gary.
She was one of the founders of the Statesmen of Jazz, an American Federation of Jazz Societies-sponsored group for jazz musicians 65 and older.
She tragically lost both her parents, Charles and Luella Nossette, at age 13 when they perished in a train-auto wreck.
She left her position with the Mets to focus on jazz piano and was a favorite around the New York nightclub circuit. She often performed with Milt Hinton .
