Non-binary/transgender American filmmaker, writer, artist, and director who is best known for their work in the films, "I Saw the TV Glow," "We're All Going to the World's Fair," "The Eyeslicer," "A Self-Induced Hallucination," and "collective:unconscious."

In the year 2009, they graduated from Boston University . Prior to their career as a director, Schoenbrun wrote a significant number of articles and news pieces for a publication called Filmmaker.

Their film We're All Going to the World's Fair premiered during the online 2021 Sundance Film Festival. It has been announced that Schoenbrun will lead a film adaptation of Imogen Binnie's book Nevada.
