ABOUT JEAN RICHEPIN
Poet, dramatist, and author whose selected works include L'Aile, Roman des Temps Nouveaux, Le Coin des Fous, and Nouvelle Mythologie Illustree, Tome I & II. Many of his plays were produced at the Comédie française. He passed away in Paris in 1926.
He was a student at the École Normale Supérieure.
In 1873, his first play L'Étoile was produced. He was gifted one of seven first edition prints of the novel A Season in Hell. In 1905, he penned and produced a play titled Don Quichotte.
His son Jacques Richepin also went on to write plays. He is said to have had an affair with actress Sarah Bernhardt.
He was close with fellow poet Arthur Rimbaud .
