Jean Rondeau

ABOUT JEAN RONDEAU

In addition to racing, he constructed race cars and in 1980, he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a car that he had helped construct, the Rondeau M379B.

He raced for Formula Renault in the 1970s before he began racing saloon cars.

He thought he won the 1982 World Endurance Championships, only to have FIA surprise him with a ruling that Porsche had actually won.

He was born and raised in Le Mans.

In 1984 he finished second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 7 laps ahead of a team led by David Hobbs .
