He began riding motorcycles at a young age.

Following his motocross career, he began open-wheel racing in the Indy Racing League. He posts primarily motocross and family content on his jeffward3x Instagram page.

He has four children, Alain, Ayrton, Brandon, and Siena.

He often raced motocross against Ricky Carmichael .
